All file conversions on StayLocal happen locally in your web browser. The files you select, drop, or paste are never uploaded to our servers or to any third party. We cannot see, access, store, or share them.

While you work, original files and results are kept in your browser’s memory and, for larger batches, in its private on-device storage (the Origin Private File System) so they do not fill up memory. This storage belongs to this site in your browser only; it is never transmitted. It is cleared when you click “Clear all”, and leftovers from closed tabs are deleted automatically within a day. You can also remove it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

We do not require an account and do not ask for personal information. Our hosting provider (Vercel) may process standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and requested pages in server logs for security and reliability purposes.

If you contact us by email, we use your address and message only to reply to you.

We use Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, personalised ads are shown only with your consent. You can change your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. If you decline, ads that do not rely on personalisation may still be shown.

Google’s consent tool stores your cookie choice in a cookie on this site so you are not asked again on every visit. When you pick a file on the homepage and choose a converter, the file is passed to the converter page through your browser’s IndexedDB storage and deleted immediately afterwards. A service worker stores the site’s pages, scripts and image codecs in your browser’s cache so the tools work offline; it never stores your files. None of this leaves your device.

StayLocal is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
