Split a PDF

Pull out the pages you need from a long PDF, or break it into one file per page. Type ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8- and get exactly those parts. The PDF is split on your device and never uploaded.

How to split a PDF

  1. 1

Drop a PDF in, or click “Choose files”.

  2. 2

Choose one PDF per page, one PDF per range, or one PDF with the chosen pages, and type the ranges.

  3. 3

Download each part, or all parts at once as a ZIP.

Ways to split a PDF

“One PDF per page” turns a 20-page document into 20 files. “One PDF per range” makes a file for every range you list, so 1-3, 5 gives you pages 1–3 in one file and page 5 in another. “One PDF with the chosen pages” collects all listed pages into a single file, which is the quickest way to extract a few pages.

Ranges are separated by commas, and a range like 8- runs from page 8 to the last page. Pages are copied without changes, so text and images keep their original quality.

Private by design

  • Processed on your device — files are never uploaded.
  • Works offline once the page has loaded.
  • No limits on file count or size beyond what your device can handle.

Frequently asked questions

How do I write page ranges?

Separate pages and ranges with commas, for example 1-3, 5, 9-12. Leave the end open, as in 8-, to go to the last page. A page may appear in more than one range.

How do I get just a few pages as one file?

Pick “One PDF with the chosen pages” and enter the pages, such as 2, 4-6. You get a single PDF with exactly those pages in that order.

Can I download all the parts at once?

Yes. When a split creates several files, “Download ZIP” saves them together. In browsers that support it, the ZIP is written straight to disk, so even large splits do not fill up memory.

Does splitting change the page quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are, without re-rendering, so each part looks exactly like the original pages.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The file is split in your browser, in a background worker. It never leaves your device.
