How to resize an image

  1. 1

Add your images by dropping them in, pasting from the clipboard, or clicking “Choose files”.

  2. 2

Choose a percentage, or switch to pixels and enter a width, a height or both.

  3. 3

Download the resized images one by one or all at once as a ZIP.

Resizing by pixels or percentage

Percentage scaling multiplies both sides by the same factor, so 50% turns a 4000×3000 photo into 2000×1500. With pixels and “Keep aspect ratio” on, the image is fitted inside the width and height you enter, so it never looks stretched; you can also fill in just one of them. With the lock off, the image is set to exactly the size you type.

The image keeps its format: JPG, PNG and WebP are saved as the same type, transparency included. Formats browsers cannot write are converted — HEIC and AVIF to JPG, GIF and BMP to PNG. Downscaling is done in several smooth steps to avoid jagged edges.

Frequently asked questions

Will resizing keep my image format?

Yes for JPG, PNG and WebP. HEIC and AVIF are saved as JPG, and GIF and BMP as PNG, because browsers cannot create those formats.

What does “Keep aspect ratio” do?

It fits the image inside the width and height you enter without distorting it. For example, a 4000×3000 photo in a 1000×1000 box becomes 1000×750. Turn it off to force an exact size.

Can I make an image bigger?

Yes, up to 400% or 16,384 pixels per side. Enlarging cannot add detail, so upscaled images look softer than the original.

Can I resize many images at once?

Yes. Add as many images as you like; each is resized with the same settings and you can download them together as a ZIP. Percentage mode works best for mixed sizes.

Does resizing make the file smaller?

Smaller dimensions almost always mean a smaller file. If you need a specific file size in KB, use the image compressor instead.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The images are resized by your browser on your device and are never sent to a server.
