Passport photo sizes and rules
The list contains sizes commonly used for passports and visas — for example 2 × 2 in, 35 × 45 mm, 33 × 48 mm and 50 × 70 mm — and a custom size for anything else. Guide lines show a typical head height for the selected preset to help with framing; they are not an official check.
Photos are saved as JPG at 300 dpi (or 600 dpi for custom sizes), with the resolution written into the file. The print sheet places as many copies as fit on 4 × 6 in or 10 × 15 cm photo paper. Print it at 100% scale, without “fit to page”.
Photo rules — size, head position, background, lighting, expression and glasses — are set by each authority and change over time. Check the current official requirements for your document before you submit.

Frequently asked questions
Which sizes are available?
Presets for common passport and visa sizes (2×2 in, 35×45 mm, 33×48 mm, 50×70 mm) plus a custom size in millimetres. Presets are starting points — confirm the size your authority requires.
How do I print the photos?
Choose the 4×6 in or 10×15 cm print sheet — it holds several copies — and print it on photo paper of that size at 100% scale, at home or at a photo kiosk. Do not use “fit to page”. Then cut along the thin lines.
What resolution are the photos?
Presets are saved at 300 dpi; custom sizes can use 300 or 600 dpi. The resolution is written into the JPG so printers reproduce the right physical size.
Will the photo be accepted?
The tool gets the size and framing right; acceptance depends on the authority’s rules for the photo itself, such as background, lighting and expression. Check the official guidance before you apply.
Does it remove the background?
No. Take the picture in front of a plain, light wall. The tool only crops and resizes, so the result looks exactly like your original photo.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Cropping and resizing happen in your browser on your device. The photo is never sent to a server.
