Make a 3×4 cm photo for documents
A 3×4 cm photo is a common format for ID cards, student and work passes and many application forms. Drop a portrait, position the frame, and download a print-ready 30×40 mm JPG at 300 dpi — optionally as a sheet of copies to print at a photo kiosk.

How to make a 3×4 cm photo
- 1
Drop a portrait photo taken against a plain, light background.
- 2
Drag and zoom the frame so the face is centred; adjust the size if your document needs something else.
- 3
Create the photo and download the single JPG or a print sheet with several copies.
About 3×4 cm photos
The tool crops your photo to a 3:4 frame and saves it at exactly 30 × 40 mm at 300 dpi (354 × 472 pixels), with the print resolution stored in the file so printers reproduce the right physical size. A print sheet places as many copies as fit on 10×15 cm or 4×6 in photo paper, with thin cut lines.
Requirements for document photos differ between countries and institutions — head size, background colour, glasses and expression are often specified. The size here is only a common starting point: check the current rules for your document and change the width and height if needed.

Frequently asked questions
Which documents use 3×4 cm photos?
The format is widespread for ID cards, student and employee badges, and some forms and certificates. Requirements vary, so check what the institution asks for before printing.
Can I change the size?
Yes. Choose “Custom size” or type a different width and height in millimetres, and pick 300 or 600 dpi. The crop frame follows the new proportions.
How do I print it?
Choose a print sheet (10×15 cm or 4×6 in) and print the sheet at 100% at a photo kiosk or online lab — do not use “fit to page”. Then cut along the thin lines.
Can the tool change my background to white?
No. The tool crops and resizes but does not edit the photo itself. Take the picture against a plain light wall for the best result.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Cropping and saving happen in your browser. The photo never leaves your device.
