Reduce a photo to 200 KB
Many online forms accept photos up to 200 KB — enough for a sharp portrait, but far below what a phone camera produces. Drop your photo and get a JPG that is 200 KB or smaller, at the best quality that fits. Nothing is uploaded.

How to reduce a photo to 200 KB
- 1
Drop one or more photos here, paste them, or click “Choose files”.
- 2
The target is preset to 200 KB — change it if your form names a different limit.
- 3
Download the JPGs, or all of them at once as a ZIP.
What 200 KB is enough for
At 200 KB a JPG can still hold a detailed portrait or a full-screen photo, so in most cases only the compression level changes and the picture keeps its full resolution.
The tool tries several quality settings and keeps the highest one that stays within 200 KB. Only if a very large or detailed photo still does not fit is it scaled down in small steps.
Private by design
- Processed on your device — files are never uploaded.
- Works offline once the page has loaded.
- No limits on file count or size beyond what your device can handle.
Frequently asked questions
Will the result really be under 200 KB?
Yes. Only results at or below the target are kept. 200 KB here means 204,800 bytes or less, so the file also passes forms that count 1 KB as 1,000 bytes.
Can I reduce many photos at once?
Yes. Drop as many photos — or a whole folder — as you like. Each one is compressed to the same target and you can download them all as a ZIP.
Will my photo look worse?
At 200 KB the difference is usually hard to see on screen. Very detailed photos, such as landscapes with foliage, may show slight softening.
Does it work with iPhone HEIC photos?
Yes. HEIC, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF and BMP are accepted and saved as JPG, the format forms accept most widely.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Compression runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Your photos never leave it.
